Leinster still in hunt to topple Ulster girls

U-18 and U-16 Interprovincials
At U-18 level, Mount Anville’s Aisling Naughton was on target in both the 2-0 win over Connacht and a vital 3-2 success over Munster as the hosts got off to the perfect start. They will hope to set up a decider with Ulster by getting the better of the South East early on Sunday morning.

The northerners, though, have the goal difference edge at the moment after a stunning eight goal salvo against the South East.

Packed with Irish U-17 internationals from the summer’s Youth Olympic Games, Joanne Orr and Lucy McKee both fired hat-tricks in an impressive performance.

They were not quite as prolific at U-16 level but nonetheless have the goal difference advantage with the group set up in an identical manner on points.

Alex’s Hannah McDermott was the goal heroine for Leinster at this level, scoring against both Munster and Connacht.
Their task is the same as their U-18 counterparts – beat the South East and then probably contest a decider with Ulster.
