Ireland 5 (John Jermyn 2, Mitch Darling, Stephen Butler, Alan Sothern) Scotland 0
Ireland’s central panel made it two from two against the Scottish visitors to Banbridge, wasting little time to take the lead with Mitch Darling snapping up Ronan Gormley’s rebounded shot in the sixth minute.
John Jermyn doubled the lead in the 11th minute with another corner strike. His drag-flick was matched by Stephen Butler’s effort for 3-0 at the break – awarded when Eugene Magee’s snap shot ballooned up.
Scotland gained more of a grip in the second half but the Irish goals kept coming. Jermyn scored his second from yet another corner before Alan Sothern completed the tally with a fine deflection.
