** (added May 24) Dublin North Ladies are seeking to appoint a head coach for the Ladies 1st and 2nd XI teams for the upcoming 2019/2020 season.

Previous coaching experience and a minimum IHA Level One coaching qualification would be an advantage. Ideally, the coach must be available to attend and coach Saturday matches and attend weekly training sessions. Preferred candidates will demonstrate excellent communication, planning and people management skills. ** (added May 13) Rathgar Hockey Club are seeking a men’s first team coach for the upcoming 2019/2020 season.

The role will comprise of the following duties:
● To produce and implement a well-structured and progressive coaching programme to meet the needs of players
● The preparation, organisation and execution of training sessions from 7-9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
● To attend matches on Saturdays (and sometimes Sundays, depending on the competition)
● To be a positive role model, creating a positive and enjoyable environment in which to motivate players and encourage participation
● To develop players’ skills to compete at the highest level
● Being responsible for team selection

Potential candidates should have the following skills:
● Ability to develop and implement high quality, varied and creative coaching sessions, focusing on player skill development and creating tactical awareness
● Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner with players and have excellent team-building skills
● Ability to organise with attention to detail and in an efficient manner
● Ability to instruct and lead players
● Ability to motivate players to perform to the best of their ability

Previous coaching experience and a minimum IHA Level One coaching qualification would be an advantage. Rathgar Hockey Club will also consider the option of a player/coach if the applicant is interested in such a position. Rathgar are very keen to provide the opportunity for an aspiring coach to assist the club with its long-term goals. ** (added May 2) Old Alex Hockey Club are seeking to appoint a first team coach (or possible head / assistant coaching team) for the upcoming 2019/2020 season, with the possibility of extending this role beyond one year subject to review.

The team have stabilised their position in the EYHL and are looking for a diligent and highly motivated coach with the vision, ambition and capability to lead the club towards a top 4 finish next year. Preferred candidates will demonstrate excellent communication, planning and people management skills, and must have a Hockey Ireland Level 2 qualification or oversees equivalent.

** (added May 2) Old Alex Hockey Club are seeking to appoint a 2nd XI team head coach for the upcoming 2019/2020 season, with the possibility of extending this role beyond one year subject to review. We already have interest from an assistant coach, so this lead role would suit those still playing or with other commitments.

Preferred candidates will demonstrate excellent communication, planning and people management skills, and must have a Hockey Ireland Level 1 qualification or overseas equivalent. ** (added April 19) Weston Hockey Club are currently looking for a coach for their men’s 1st XI (Leinster Division III) for the upcoming 2019/20 season. Ideally, the coach must be available to attend and coach Saturday matches and attend weekly training sessions.

The successful candidate requires good technical and tactical knowledge of the sport, will provide guidance to the other men’s and youth coaches and will work with the club committee to ensure common goals and uphold the ethos of Weston HC. Coaching experience and a minimum IHA Level One coaching qualification is preferred. Player coach applicants will also be
considered for the position.

** (added April 19) Midleton hockey club is looking for a new men’s coach for the 2019/20 season. The club is looking to build on recent seasons success’s and to continue the work towards promotion to Div 1 hockey. The club has progressed in recent years with signi#cant underage success and these players are now coming through to the men’s 1st and 2nds teams. A strong core of experienced players providing the backbone of the squads with underage interprovincial representative honours building a positive outlook for the club in the next few seasons.

The coaching role will be primarily be focused on the 1st
squad development. Remuneration package is available for the successful candidate. Training will be on two nights a week with weekend matches.
Ideally Candidates:
Would have completed level 1 coaching course.
Good technical knowledge.
Garda vetted.
Coaching experience or experience of playing at a high standard desirable.
Be enthusiastic and driven.

** (added April 19) Midleton hockey club is looking for a new women’s coach for the 2019/20 season.

The club is looking to build on recent seasons for the ladies, and to continue the work towards progressing up the Divisions. The ladies have been promoted to Division 4 for the 2019/20 Season.

The club has progressed in recent years with significant underage numbers, and some of these are now coming through the Club up into Ladies. This, combined with a strong core of experienced players providing the backbone of the squad, leads to a positive outlook for the Club. For the first time in the Club, we will have two ladies’ teams in the Munster Hockey Divisions next Season.

The coaching role will be primarily be focused on the 1st squad development. Remuneration package is available for the successful candidate. Training will be on one night a week with weekend matches.

Ideally Candidates:

  • Would have completed level 1 coaching course.
  • Good technical knowledge.
  • Garda vetted.
  • Coaching experience or experience of playing at a high standard desirable.
