** (added August 16) Sorcha Cunningahm is running a ‘Goalie Club’ this September – a great chance for goalies of any level to get some preseason training in!
“I believe that goalies in senior clubs would benefit from these sessions, as we all know we can get left out when the outfielders are around! I would love to see more goalies of all ages getting specific coaching in, raising the standards of goalies at senior club level. I am currently playing Division 1 with Genesis, and have years of experience coaching goalies from primary school to senior level.
“I am running a trial for the first 4 Fridays of September, and if successful would like to run more sessions throughout the year. The cost is €100 per goalie and sessions will be in St. Raphaela’s school in Stillorgan. Goalies must bring their own gear.
All basic topics will be covered, including: 1v1s, Direct saves, Hands, Diving, Block Sliding, Penalty Flicks, Penalty Corners, Kicking
I am encouraging clubs to sign up their goalies, we are important people after all! Please see the flyer attached.
