** (added July 28) Dublin University Hockey Club (Trinity) is looking to appoint a new First Team head coach for the upcoming 2020/2021 season. The squad competes in Leinster Division 1 and features a host of former underage interprovincial representatives and top schoolboy players.
We are seeking a committed and ambitious coach who will relish the opportunity to work with and develop our talented, young team not only this year, but hopefully for many years to come.
The role will begin as soon as possible with preseason training and a number of friendlies. Training sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:30pm in Santry Avenue, and the league schedule will occasionally require travel to fixtures outside of Dublin.

** (added June 30) Limerick Hockey Club is seeking a coach for the Men’s section of the club for the 2020/21 season and beyond. The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset and value the importance of developing a strong, inclusive culture within the team and club in addition to being performance driven.
The club currently has one men’s team that plays in Munster Division 2, several cup competitions, and the Munster Indoor Championship. The team are current back to back Munster Indoor Champions and in 2019/20 the team won the Munster Junior Cup, the Cork Cup, and were runners up in the Hockey Ireland Challenge Cup.
The club is aiming to increase playing numbers and grow back to two mens teams as soon as is realistically possible. We would like to attract candidates who are interested in overseeing the club’s mens programme as a whole and keen to support initiatives to grow the programme to establish a second team, however, the role would not include coaching a second team.
The current playing squad includes a well balanced mix of experienced players who are capable of assisting with coaching responsibilities and young players, some of whom are also playing school hockey. Several players have made Irish Junior Age Group and Masters teams within the last two years and there is significant potential for growth among the squad. The role would be ideally suited to a coach who gets a lot of reward and satisfaction from seeing his / her players grow and develop.

The role will comprise of the following duties:
- To produce and implement a well-structured and progressive coaching programme to meet the needs of players
- The preparation, organisation and execution of training sessions from 7-9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- To attend matches on Saturdays (and sometimes Sundays, depending on the competition)
- To be a positive role model, creating a positive and enjoyable environment in which to motivate players and encourage participation
- To develop players’ skills to compete at the highest level
- Being responsible for team selection
Potential candidates should have the following skills:
- Ability to develop and implement high quality, varied and creative coaching sessions, focusing on player skill development and creating tactical awareness
- Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner with players and have excellent team-building skills
- Ability to organise with attention to detail and in an efficient manner
- Ability to instruct and lead players
- Ability to motivate players to perform to the best of their ability
Previous coaching experience and a minimum IHA Level One coaching qualification would be an advantage. Rathgar Hockey Club will also consider the option of a player/coach if the applicant is interested in such a position.

Bray HC is Clubmark accredited and candidates will be subject to being Garda Vetting, having achieved minimum of Level 1 coaching badge along with previous coaching experience.
