Temple won a thriller 1-0 against St Gerard’s. The Clontarf side started on top with Elyse Jamieson Murphy, in the first phase of the quarter, breaking through one-on-one but was denied by the Bray side’s goalkeeper.

Becky McMullen’s reverse went just wide at the near post before Gerard’s had their best chances denied by Aoife Brennan.

That kept it tense into the third quarter when the deadlock was broken when Jamieson Murphy broke past the midfield line and sent a crash ball into Taylor Armstrong who was sitting back post to slot in.

With Gerards feeling the pressure to level, they attacked aggressively and they won a late corner which was cleared by Becky McMullen to retain their lead.

Newbridge edged into the quarter-finals with a shoot-out win over Holy Child Killiney 4-2 after normal time ended scoreless.

Muckross Park have a chance of a potential Senior/Junior double as their senior team won 4-0 against Loreto Dalkey. Two goals came in the first quarter – one from play by Rachel Maher and a corner from Helen Barr. Then two goals in the last quarter from Sarah McAuley and Kes Higgins closed out the result.

Clare Gorman got Loreto Foxrock off to the perfect start against St Columba’s with an early goal but it remained very tight all the way until Sarah Fogarty’s clincher from a final quarter corner, 2-0.

St Andrew’s kept their title retention hopes alive with a narrow 3-2 win in Sutton over Santa Sabina.
