The win saw them jump back ahead of Monkstown at the head of the table with seven wins from eight, earning a date with Leinster champions Trinity in the promotion playoffs semi-final on Saturday, April 27.
In Lurgan, NUIG put in a memorable comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against the hosts. Emma Lindsay and Sarah McClure had the Ulster side two to the good but Katie Codyre and Kate Langan turned things around for the Galway side for the tie.
In Pool A, Trinity ended their group campaign with a 1-0 win in Galway against Greenfields with Isy Delamer scoring the goal in the third quarter. They finished second to Queen’s who will play Monkstown as a result of this weekend’s action.
UCC finished their EYHL2 season on a high as they came from a goal down to beat Corinthian. Isabel Maleady opened the scoring but efforts from Saoirse O’Leary and Aebfhinn Bourke made it 2-1 for the Cork side.
