Corinthian and UCD confirm top spots from men’s EYHL2 groups

With the semi-finalists already confirmed, who will play who was the name of the game in EYHL Division 2 this weekend with Corinthian facing Railway Union and UCD meeting Instonians the outcome on Saturday evening.

Corinthian won Pool B on Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 win over UCC with the prolific Ian Stewart setting the ball rolling before David Howard, Max Wright and George Dagg adding to the total. Inst had beaten Kilkeel on Friday evening with a late Ben Palmer goal.

UCD topped Pool A courtesy of their 6-3 win at Bangor on the north Down coast. Simon Cox gave Bangor an early lead but Andrew Meates, Peter Lynch, Ewan Ramsay and Andrew Keane all scored for UCD before half-time as they built a 4-2 lead.

Andrew Tutty and Meates put them further in the clear for a fourth win out of six in the group stages. Railway won 2-0 in Bandon via two Daragh Curley goals to get their third win and second place.
