Anville hammer out trio of Leinster schools titles on perfect day

Mount Anville won an unprecedented trio of titles within a few hours of each other at Grange Road on Tuesday afternoon with Muckross Park the victim each time as the Leinster girls finals hit top gear.

In the Minor A Cup, a single first-half goal from Juliette O’Hanlon from an Emma Fleming pass proved the difference as the Goatstown outfit won a cracking contest. Georgia Kelly was at the heart of things in midfield for Anville, playing out a brilliant contest with Muckross’s Sarah Rooney while Jenny Costello, at centre-back was fearless at the base of the defence.

Further up the field, captain Aimee Wyse kept things ticking while Emma Fleming – an international golfer who plays off 2 – showed her exquisite timing in a cracking contest between two well matched sides.

Anville had the best of the first half before Muckross peppered their backline in the second half but could not breakthrough.

In the Minor ‘B’ final, it was the same two schools going enthusiastically into battle with Mount Anville having plenty of possession but eventually the contest went to a shoot-out after a scoreless normal time.

At Junior B level, the hat trick was complete with Anville winning 2-0 to make it a clean sweep on the day against their Donnybrook rivals.
