Loreto Foxrock started the new schoolgirls Premier League season in ominous form as they ran up an impressive 5-0 win over St Gerard’s on the opening day of the campaign.
Two goals each from Aoife Taaffe and Caitlin Sherin along with one from Kayla Phelan saw them sweep to victory in Section B as they look to back up last year’s Senior Cup success.
They followed up with success at the Leahy Cup in Limerick, doing enough to qualify for the final with a 4-0 win over Salerno along with draws against Kilkenny (0-0), Mount Anville (1-1) and Crescent (3-3).

In the decider, they beat reigning All-Ireland champions Kilkenny 1-0 to take home the crown.
In Section A, Wesley landed a 2-0 win over rivals High School. The Ballinteer school had most of the pressure early on with a couple of chances and penalty corners.
They eventually broke through via an Emma Paul corner conversion. High School fought back and fully tested Holly Micklem before Paul made the game safe with five minutes to go from another set piece.
Newbridge College also got off the mark with a 1-0 away win at Rathdown, Grace Conneely scoring the only goal.
Holy Child Killiney, meanwhile, beat Loreto Dalkey 3-0, Caroline Mathews, Kathleen Bevan and Laura Noble doing the damage. Mathews got the first from a corner, Bevan added the second from a great team move before Noble closed out the win.
