Players out: Kirk Shimmins (Dragons), Alan Sothern (La Gantoise), Mark Ingram (HC Rotterdam), Nick Burns (Old Georgians), David Quinn (Waterford), Keith Crawford (temporary sabbatical)

Overview: A summer of significant change with three internationals departing to maximize their international chances for inclusion in the upcoming World Cup, new coach Paudie Carley “wishes them well” and “all the very best for the World Cup and the continental season ahead. They go go with our best wishes and gratitude for what they have contributed in previous years – they will always be Pembroke players at heart”.

Three new recruits come from overseas with Cody Thomas part of the New South Wales Under-21 regional squad in July, Andreu Gomez coming from Atletic Terrassa and Lachlan Glen moving from Canada where he has been in and around the national panel.

The club are hoping for a breakout season from Irish Under-21 player Cian Murphy and James Magennis involved. They will rely on the core and leadership of Harry Spain and Keith O’Hare and the Sweetnam brothers, Richard and Stephen.

Last year’s captain Keith Crawford and David Quinn are taking a step back to focus on their careers for a period, meaning Pembroke will have a very new look about them.
