Players out: Roisin Upton (Catholic Institute), Naomi Carroll (injured), Nicola Kerr (Cork C of I), Emma Buckley (Racing Club de Bruxelles)

Overview: The team has changed significantly through the loss of a few key players with Roisin Upton returning to her old club in Limerick, Catholic Institute, while Naomi Carroll is out for the foreseeable future with injury. Nicola Kerr moves back to Cork C of I and Emma Buckley has made a good start to the season at Racing Club de Bruxelles.

They will be replaced this season by talented up and coming youngsters who have been working hard to cement a place within the squad in preseason. Harlequins have played friendly games against the Munster U-16 boys which has really helped to increase the tempo of play.

There is a change, too, on the coaching front with Stephen Dale stepping down after numerous years service and Darren Collins coming in.

Yvonne O’Byrne brings star quality to the line-up as does Cliodhna Sargent for the full season. Sargent will be a key leader as usual and she said: “It will be interesting to see how we stack up over the season but as always we have our eye on the top prize!”
