Chloe Watkins, Anna O’Flanagan and Nikki Evans combined for 65 goals last season and their forward triangle will be a massive loss that they will need to overcome. Eimear Horan and Sarah Greene have also been integral parts of the side for the past two seasons, meaning it is a tough task for new coach Gareth Watkins but something of a blank slate to work with to put his own imprint on following Rudi Wortmann’s successful stint.

Under-21 players Suzi Kelly, Amber Barnwell and Ava Beatty will take on greater roles and responsibilities alongside experienced players such as Christine Quinlan, Rosie Carrigan and Caitriona McGilp.

Up front, Lily Lloyd and Phoebe Norwood will need to try and bring some of their impact at schools level to the country’s top league and learn from Irish international Sinead Loughran. The learning curve will need to be fast in the first few weeks for a panel with a lot of new faces.
