Trinity to introduce inaugural Wheeler Plate

Trinity Hockey will host the inaugural Wheeler Plate match between the Ladies alumni President’s XI and current students XI on April 21 at 4.30pm in College Park.

The Wheeler Plate will take place annually, and is named in honour of Doris Findlater (née de Courcey-Wheeler) who has kindly donated a Plate to be awarded to the winning team. Now 107, she played with the University in the 1920s and represented Ireland on a tour to the US in February 1928.

The match will be preceded by the annual Coulson Cup between the Dublin University men’s 1st XI who will be facing off against the TRR President’s XI at 3pm.

The Trinity and Dublin University sides are welcoming their respective alumni along to the event along with food and drinks in the Pavilion.

4.15pm Presentation of the Wheeler Plate to DULHC President – John Findlater to present plate to DULHC President Linda Caulfield on behalf of Mrs D Findlater

5.30pm Presentation of Wheeler Plate to winning team
