Many in the Ulster and Irish hockey community will be aware of the serious spinal cord injuries which Instonians and Raphoe player Alan Patterson suffered in the summer of 2016.
It has been a long hard road for Alan over recent months but his attitude during his period of rehabilitation has been exemplary. He still has a long way to go yet.
A Qualifying Trust to support Alan going forward has been formed and a number of fundraising events have already been a big help.
One major event which they hope will be supported by many hockey clubs throughout Ulster and further afield is a Golf Day at Knock Golf Club on Thursday, May 11 (see flyer below).
Alan was not only a member of Instonians Hockey Club but he was also a member of the Green Staff team at Knock Golf Club.
The Council of Knock Golf Club has granted the course for free use to the Charitable Trust and Instonians Hockey Club are undertaking the organisation of the golf day and are looking for all to support.
