Overview: With two ambitious coaches in their second season – former internationals Lisa Jacob and Fiona Connery – and the addition of Peter Yates as second team coach, Genesis begin the season full of optimism with a great continuity of structure from last season.

Goalkeeper Sorcha Cunningham carries her excellent form from last season. Laura Barrie is an ever present in central defense and assistant coach Connery will also play. This is bolstered by the addition of new players who bring experience – Wendy Cullen, Ali O’Farrell and Connery all played 0ver-40s Irish masters – and intensity to the group. They add to a core group of schoolgirls who are maturing like Ali McCool (Loreto Foxrock), Rachel Quirke (St Andrew’s) and Lara Burke (St Gerard’s). The departure of the promising midfielder Christina Hamill to Loreto, however, is a blow.
