Olympic Fanzones – where to watch Ireland in action!

** Glenanne will host an open day for all ages on August 6. It will be held in St Mary’s Rugby Club with a BBQ, bouncy castles, and games for the kids from 12pm onwards.

The Ireland vs India match will be on in the bar at 3pm. Glenanne welcomes all hockey enthusiasts from all clubs. You may contact fionahanaphy@gmail.com for more information on 087 979 017.

** Avoca will run an Obsessed Ireland Fan Zone to watch the Irish men in their first match in this year’s Olympics on Saturday, August 6 at the Wishing Well in Blackrock. The venue will be showing the match live and will be running a barbecue on the day. ** Three Rock Rovers will host a family-friendly fanzone for the India match on August 6 at 3pm with all welcome; the bar will be open with all game screened for all the Irish games throughout the competition.

** Monkstown are hosting a preseason Olympic barbecue at the Tramyard Café in Dalkey on August 6 in conjunction with the Ireland vs India match with the event starting at 2pm. The match will be broadcast on the big screen with food served from 2pm to 3.30pm

There will be a prize for the best dressed supporter and, just in case you forget, face paint will be available on the day. The BBQ is open to all members (new and old), supporters, friends and family of the club. The price per person for the BBQ is €11 while non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase separately. ** Trinity’s Pavilion Bar and Grill – aka The Pav – will show the majority of the hockey matches live on the big screen with food and drinks available throughout the event.

** Bray has arranged that all the games will be shown on the big screen in the Martello

** Cork Harlequins Club are hosting a family fun day on August 6 starting at 1pm, with an outdoor screen to show the India v Ireland match live at 3pm. Bouncy castles, food stalls and bar facilities plus mini hockey tournaments on their brand new pitch. Everyone welcone to support the Boys in Green.
