Loreto Foxrock earned a second shot at Alexandra College after they beat Rathdown 2-0 last Saturday morning to complete the final four of the Leinster Schoolgirls Senior Cup.
Christina Hamill did the damage, scoring both of Foxrock’s goals in the first half of their meeting last Saturday morning. She combined superbly with Aisling Walsh to open the scoring ten minutes in and got her second before the break for a two-goal advantage.Rathdown battled hard in the second half, removing their goalkeeper for the last five minutes, but were unable to get back into the tie.
Alex beat Foxrock to the Senior League title in silver goal extra time in early January and so there will an extra element of spice to their tie when they meet on Thursday at 3pm.
St Gerard’s kept up their title retention hopes when they beat St Andrew’s 5-2 in their semi-final tie with Irish senior international Lena Tice scoring twice. The Bray school will play Muckross who were 3-0 winners over Holy Child, Killiney in their quarter-final tie.
