Scotland came from a goal down to beat Ireland 2-1 in their second tie this week in Glasgow, taking the lead in their three game series.

The game saw teenager Elena Tice make her international debut, making her a dual Irish player having played for the Irish cricket team since she was 13 years-old.

Megan Frazer struck in the 12th minute for Ireland when she glided into the circle before smashing home. She went agonisingly close to a second while Nikki Evans also had a couple of good chances, one of which was cleared off the line by Susan McGilveray just before half-time.

Scotland rallied in the second half, though, as Fiona Bruce got on a touch to Nikki Kidd’s reverse-stick cross for 1-1 in the 45th minute. Four minutes later, Katie Roberston looped a shot over Pam Smithwick – making her first international appearance since early 2014 – for 2-1.

They had a volley of four penalty corners, too, to extend the lead but to no avail. The two sides meet today in the final international tie of 2015 for both.
