Having eliminated Loreto and UCD, Railway Union face yet another all-Leinster clash as they travel out to Glenanne on January 24. Hermes will meet a Belfast Harlequins side going well in the Ulster Premier division, pushing for a top four finish.

Lisnagarvey are in the quarters for the first time but are up against it having drawn Ulster Elks away, a side they lost 8-1 to in October. Pegasus’ reward for beating Pembroke is another long away trip, this time to Cork Harlequins.

The men’s Irish Senior Cup semi-final draw will be made in January at the same time as the women’s final four is known.

In the Junior Cups, last year’s men’s finalists meet with Monkstown hosting Pembroke in the marquee tie of the second round to be played on January 31.

Three Rock wil fancy their chances against Dublin University II, a side in the lower half of the table two divisions below them. Glenanne and Railway both have tricky away trips to Ulster as do division three’s Rathgar.

On the women’s side, the derby match-up is Trinity hosting Loreto while Railway go to Armagh and Old Alex go to Bandon. Muckross against Pegasus hark back to a different era with the Donnybrook side hoping to pull off something of a shock. 2013 winners Pembroke will fancy their chances when they play Ashton at Serpentine Avenue.

The men’s Irish Hockey Challenge has a distinct Leinster fell to it with six sides in the quarter-finals with Dublin Uni the clear favourites though they are on the road to Bray in the next phase.
