The lowdown: Chris Tyrrell steps away from the coaching panel having worked with Keith Crawford at Pembroke for the previous two seasons and Trinity II before that. This is mainly due to work commitments however he will take up a specialized role with the youth section in the club. This has meant Crawford has stepped away from the playing to focus on the coaching with Tim Hill will take up the role in the coaching panel to assist this season.

On the playing side, for the second season running, there has been a big incoming contingent. Sarah Clarke takes over as captain from Jilly Collins of the side, returning to the club having spent three seasons at Loreto. Again, the colleges are fertile hunting ground woth UCD’s IHL winners Kate Collins-Smyth, Orla Macken and Caroline Hill give them some more high quality options.

Erika Hinkson will add more firepower to a side with an excellent defensive record last term. Graduates of the Pembroke filles Rachel O’Brien, Sorcha Clarke and Laura Hanlon will be sought to take charge of senior woman’s hockey while the side have international experience in goal in the form of Stella Davis. They have a real chance of getting back into the Irish Hockey League.

First three games: Hermes (h); North Kildare (a); Randalstown (h) Irish Senior Cup
