Coach: Kieran Bolger (2nd Season)

The lowdown: The 2014/15 season sees several changes to the Glenanne line-up. The first major loss comes in the form of Rachel ‘Rambo’ Lambe from the goal line as she makes the move to live in Australia.

From Loreto comes Rachel O’Brien who steps up to fill the boots of Mary Waldron in midfield as she pursues her cricket career also down under. The impact to the forward line of Rachel Maunsell’s departure to Singapore is minimized due to the return of both Clare Shillington and Paula Fitzpatrick from international duty (cricket and rugby respectively), as well as Rebecca O’Reilly’s return from maternity leave.

The experienced Audrey McCormack and Niamh Cashman will once again be key to the success of the side. Kate O’Connor leads the young defenders from the back with strong tackling and quick passing.

The first league tie tradition returns with the Glenanne girls kicking the season off against Loreto in Rathfarnam on Saturday, while they also have tough ties against UCD, Pembroke and Hermes in the opening few weeks.

First three games: Loreto (a); UCD (h); Pembroke (a)
