Denham steps into Loreto hot seat

Loreto have announced the appointment of Niall Denham as head coach for their first eleven for the forthcoming season. He takes over from Trevor Dagg who led the side to the semi-finals of the Irish Hockey League.

loretoDenham brings a wealth of coaching experience and is the former coach of Railway Union’s men, current Leinster U-16 boys coach and assistant coach to the Irish U-16 boys.

He will be joined by Paul Fitzpatrick, formerly of Glennane and current coach of Three Rock Rovers’ men, who has been appointed as skills coach for Loreto’s first and second teams.

Stuart Malcolm will be at the helm for the second team after successfully coaching the thirds for two seasons. Malcolm is hugely involved in the junior section of the club and has also the been on the coaching team of the Leinster U-16 boys.

After two seasons coaching the seconds, winning the Division 2 title in 2012/13, Nicky King takes over the 3rds. King’s experience and attention to detail needs no introduction, last season saw a young seconds team finish second in the league while her school St Andrew’s winning the league and cup double.
