Ireland’s women are sending two teams to the Masters Hockey World Cup which is taking place in Rotterdam, Holland from June 5-13, coinciding with the Hockey World Cup taking place nearby in The Hague from May 31 to June 15.
The Irish O-40s are coached by Guy Garrett and captained by Clodagh McMoreland, from Yeats County. The squad includes ex-international goalkeeper Tara Browne from Galway, along with experienced defenders Emma Glanville and Linda Jenkinson.
The squad contains nine Leinster players, from Loreto, Old Alex, Pembroke, along with Lorna Bagnell from Fingal Malahide, who makes her debut at this level.
The O-40s squad face teams from England, New Zealand and the Dutch O45s in their pool matches before the cross-over matches.
The O-50s are coached by Ben Epstein and captained by ex international Maggie Hunter from Lisnagarvey. Other ex-internationals include midfielder Joanne O’Grady of Suttonians and centre forward Cathy Walsh from Cork Cof I, one of four players from that club.
