Rathdown, High School and St Andrew’s all confirmed their place in the semi-finals of this year’s Leinster Schoolgirl’s Senior Cup following a series of narrow quarter-finals in the past week, joining Loreto Beaufort in the final four.
Rathdown bounced back from their Premier League final setback with a 3-2 extra time win over Wesley in the second round of the cup, earning a date with St Gerard’s on Saturday morning in the quarters. They duly won that tie against St Gerard’s four days later on penalties after they drew in normal time 2-2.
Claudia Tierney Cup winners High School used the same method to get the better of Mount Anville as normal time once again finished 2-2 before the Rathgar side prevailed on penalties. On Monday afternoon, St Andrew’s bolstered their double ambitions when Sally Campbell’s solo goal helped them see off Muckross 1-0.
