It was goodbye to the old grit pitch in Cluny this week as students and guests gathered last Friday to mark the opening of the new Astroturf pitch in St Joseph of Cluny secondary school.
The pitch is the culmination of several years of planning and preparation in the school and the students are very excited that they no longer have to play on the old grit surface pitch.
The new development in the school was built by SAC Construction from Co Meath who also developed new car parking facilities on the site and the new development features a hockey changing pavilion for the students.
Emerald Sports have featured the latest Tiger Turf prototype carpet surface on this pitch and AirTricity were contractors for the floodlights.
