Wesley to rename pavilion in honour of Ken and Joan Blackmore

The Governors of Wesley College will be renaming the Pavilion in Wesley College The Blackmore Pavilion. This will be to honour Kenneth Blackmore (Principal 1977-96) and his wife Joan.

DSC_0892Mr and Mrs Blackmore lived on the Wesley campus and contributed to the College over a 19 year period. In that time, Wesley advanced in many important ways. In particular, Wesley developed into one of Ireland’s premier hockey schools. It is the wish of the College that the significant contribution of Mr and Mrs Blackmore to Wesley College be recognised.

Past and present pupils, players, staff and parents are cordially invited to attend a special function on Wednesday, September 25 at 5.30pm.

Mr and Mrs Blackmore will be present along with former hockey players, coaches, umpires, staff and Governors. In addition to a formal re-naming of the building, it is hoped that this will be an opportunity to meet up with old friends and acquaintances.
