Old Alex have confirmed Didi Cole as their first team coach for the upcoming season, taking over from Miles Warren for the 2013/14 season.
On the appointment, Old Alex Club Captain Lara Dungan has said that she is “very pleased to welcome Didi to Old Alex at a time when the team is poised to capitalise on the experience the young and talented players have gained with the club in recent seasons under the watchful eye of Miles Warren”.
Cole takes on the role after working with Monkstown most recently as the first team coach in the 2011/12 season.

Last season saw the culmination of that hard work in 2012/13 season as Monkstown swept to a first Irish Senior Cup in 99 years while also annexing the Irish Hockey League, Irish Junior Cup winners, Leinster Senior Mills Cup winners as well as league victories in the lower divisions and for their women’s team.
A former Irish international, he honed his skills as a player in Newpark Comprehensive and later Avoca in the 1970s and 80s, winning a plethora of league titles and cups as well has holding the club captain and president roles in the 1990s. He has also worked with the Leinster Hockey Branch in developing youth and schools section.
