News in brief: Hosking and Sherriff appointed

** Jody Hosking has been appointed as the Three Rock Ladies head coach for the upcoming 2012/13 season as they aim to bounce back into division one at the first time of asking. Hosking, originally from Potchefstroom in South Africa, previously coached Three Rock’s U-16 boys to league and cup success and will combine playing with the first team with this new appointment.

** YMCA have announced Justin Sheriff as the club’s new coach of the men’s seconds team and assistant coach of the men’s first team. He takes on the role after working with Pembroke’s ladies first team for the past two seasons and brings with him a wealth of international playing experience and “will look to bring forward the young players of the club while helping the senior players”. A YM club statement added “we also hope to get the odd game out of him aswell!”

**Weston’s annual golf classic will take place on August 31 in Lucan Golf Club. The previous date had to be cancelled due to the course being flooded.
