News in brief: Guinness and Portrane seek new coach

** Guinness are seeking an individual to coach their ladies teams for the 2012-2013 season in division six and ten. The coach will be required to commit to training sessions on Monday (7-8pm) and Wednesday (8-9.30pm) evenings in the Iveagh Ground. Attendance for a minimum of one match each Saturday preferred but not essential. Coaching sessions begin at the start of August 2012 and finish towards the end of March 2013. ** Portrane men’s first eleven are looking for a coach for the upcoming season. Following back-to-back wins in Leinster division five and four, last season they consolidated their place back in senior hockey with six wins in division two. ** Skerries still have a few places available for their hockey camp which runs from July 23 to 27; for the week, the price is €85 with the camp running each day from 10am to 3pm. For booking details, contact Dean Robinson on 0872462915.

The project is being spearheaded by former underage international Brian McMahon; Johnny Tindle, who has over 15 years of coaching experience in hockey and soccer with Shelbourne Youths; and Brian Butterly – who has been coaching for five years in the club.
