Belgium bounced back from two successive defeats in Valencia – one against France, one against Ireland – as they showed their quality against Paul Revington’s side who made several changes.
From Wednesday’s panel with David Fitzgerald coming in between the posts while Jason Lynch, Richard Sykes, Jonathan Bell and Andy McConnell and Peter Blakeney taking the place of David Harte, Eugene Magee, David Ames, Mikey Watt, Chris Cargo and Gareth Watkins.
Belgium hit the front after 12 minutes through Cedric Charlier, who found the top corner with a beautiful reverse-stick strike.
After the break, Tom Boon once again demonstrated his flicking ability from with two in two minutes, moving Belgium three clear from a 41st minute corner as goalkeeper Jeremy Gucassoff enjoyed a quiet day.
The two teams will play a third time this Sunday before meeting hosts Spain on Monday.
