Summary: Justin Sherriff is looking at pretty much a blank canvas for 2011/12 as several of Pembroke’s established stars are unavailable for one reason or other for the campaign, allowing a promotion from within of youth and second team players.

In addition to the departures of Noelle Farrell, Sarah Clarke and the emigrating Rachel McKeon, Aoife Sherriff takes a season off to sort out an ongoing back problem while Shona Doyle and Catherine Little are also on hiatus. Goalkeeper Kelly Scott has a knee ligament injury which rules her out for the foreseeable future but she could make a comeback at some stage in the season.

Dublin minor football ladies footballer Olivia Smartt and Mount Anville’s Avril Dooley-O’Carroll  are in the emerging category while the likes of Anna O’Neill and Sharon Carey provide the guidance. Holly Jones has a modicum of top tier experience from her Trinity days and is one of four additions.

Preseason has yielded a win and a draw; following Bray’s withdrawal, their first league game is now on Tuesday night against Corinthian and can begin to paint a picture of what Sherriff’s new-look panel looks like.
