News in brief: Bring 10, Pay 10, Take 10

** Three Rock Rovers’ U-16 players David Williams and Luke Madeley are inviting you to “Bring 10, Pay 10 and Take 10” as part of their summer fundraising efforts. Williams will be undertaking the Oxfam 100km Trailtrekker while Madeley, part of the Irish U-16 panel, is seeking to raise funds for the summer programme.

Their target is to get 80 people to bring ten books that they have finished reading, pay €10 at the door and subsequently take ten books home with them from the selection available.

The event takes place in Three Rock’s Grange Road on Saturday, May 21 from 11am to 3pm. Williams and Madeley will entertain children throughout the event with mini-football games while complimentary tea/coffee and cake is available while you peruse and select your books. ** YMCA Ladies are looking for a first Team Coach for next season. In advertising the position, they say: “We are a hard working and committed, yet fun team who have quickly moved up the ranks to Division 4 and are now looking for a coach to take on the challenge of bringing us right to the top.” If you feel that you can help the team continue up the ranks, please contact Aimee Powderly at club.captain@ymcahc.ie

** Bray are looking to recruit a coach for their ladies firsts’ division one side as well as their men’s firsts who play Div. 7 whole there are also ladies teams in divisions 3, 8 and 11 that also need coaches. ** The inaugural Annual General Meeting of the Leinster Hockey Association will take place on May 30 2011 in Pembroke Wanderers Hockey Club at 7.45pm.

The meeting will see the elections to the positions of the new entity including the auditors, president, vice-president, honorary secretary, treasurer, management committee, disciplinary committee, chairman of the grounds committee as well as specific men’s, women’s and South East section officers. Proposed Affiliation, Cup and League Fees for the coming season will also be put forward.
