Corinthian’s junior U-14s claimed the girl’s club A league, last week, taking the title with a game still to play as they moved out of reach of Hermes and Pembroke with a tie against Old Alex still to play.
It follows the cup win for the same group a year ago while the Whitechurch club remains in contention for the U-14B and U-16A and B league titles as all three are unbeaten this term.
The Jacqui Potter Juvenile Cup, meanwhile, reaches the final stage with Muckross and Old Alex facing off on St Patrick’s Day at 10am as the curtain-raiser for a huge day of hockey.
Old Alex were the first to take up their place, winning 2-0 last Saturday in a rematch from last year’s semi-final against Corinthian – one goal from a corner and one from play was enough.
Railway hosted Muckross early on Sunday morning in advance of their senior ladies Leinster senior cup game. Muckross scored early in the first half and late in the second to secure the win.
The Park Avenue hosts looked dangerous at times and a breakaway goal looked on the cards a couple of times but the Muckross backs kept the danger areas clear without conceding any corners.
The Plate competition will see Hermes and Three Rock contest the final after they emerged from semi-finals ahead of Our Lady’s and Avoca, respectively.
