Brock and Canning join Irish underage management

Leinster ladies secretary Catherine Brock has taken on the U-16 girl’s managerial role, taking over from Jean McDonnell following her decision to prioritise her own international playing career.

Brock will work with coach Una McCarthy along with another new recruit with Alison McNeill coming in as assistant coach.
McNeill is currently the Ulster U-18 head-coach, having steered the side to several Interprovincial titles and the UK Youth Games gold medal in 2010.

Sarah Canning (pictured), a teacher from Munster and now residing in County Wicklow takes up the girl’s U-18 managerial position. Canning previously played up to U-21 international level and is currently a member of the Old Alex first team.

Will Bartley will return as manager to the U-18 boys team after his spell with the group last year in their success Home Nations campaign in Cork last July.

At this stage, the U-18 boy’s Head Coach has not been announced and the IHA is hoping that a suitable candidate will be appointed before their first trial on December 29.
