Grange Road switches on for new season

Three Rock Rovers will officially switch on their new floodlights on Friday night, beginning a weekend of intriguing preseason friendlies with English clubs Bowdon and Beeston visiting Dublin along with Cork Harlequins. The Grange Road club face EHL bound Glenanne at 8pm with the official ceremony preceding the tie.

The ceremony will be conducted by European Hockey Federation general secretary David Balbirnie, club president Mary Harris and Jerry Brown and Tom McCabe from Musco Lighting – partners of the EHF and sponsors of the night’s event.

Monkstown get Saturday’s action underway when they will play English premier league club Bowdon before Beeston clash with Glenanne in the marquee game of the day at 2pm. Cork Harlequins, meanwhile, will play TRR on Sunday morning at 11am.

Weekend fixture schedule (all at Grange Road):
Friday: TRR vs Cork Harlequins, 8.30pm
Saturday: Monkstown vs Bowdon, 12pm; Beeston vs Glenanne, 2pm; TRR vs Bowdon, 4pm
Sunday: TRR vs Cork Harlequins, 11am; Glenanne vs Bowdon, 12.45pm
