Summary: Corinthian begin the season after a packed preseason as new boss Harold de Jong attempts to introduce a new style of play to Whitechurch Park.

Trips to face Lurgan, Cork Harlequins and Bandon have all been well-received for a side looking to be in the competitive mix with the likes of Glenanne, Pembroke and Trinity as they seek to close the gap on the IHL places.

They do so this season with a trio of newcomers in Nikki Clarke, Isobel Hoyne and Leinster junior interpro Sally Corry but must deal with a couple of serious injuries already.

Lyndsey Watson underwent a hip operation and her recovery will take time while Ciara Bregazzi-Nevin has a broken bone in her hand.

Holly Warren has made her second trip to Australia and is the club’s major departure but the likes of Carol Magowan and Sarah Walker will keep them battling as they bid to push for a top five place.

First three games: Old Alex (h); Loreto (a); Bray (a)
